Some partnerships make immediate sense. Lindsay and Jenny Hsieh — founder of Melbourne-based luxury bag label X Nihilo — met through the Australian Fashion Council and recognised something in each other's work straight away. Two founders. Two brands built on the conviction that what you make should be worth keeping.
X Nihilo — from the Latin ex nihilo, meaning creation out of nothing — was established in Melbourne in 2016. Jenny designed her first collection with a clear point of view: refined luxury without conspicuous branding, bags for women of individuality and substance. A decade later, that conviction hasn't wavered.
Every X Nihilo bag is designed in Melbourne and crafted with meticulous attention to material, construction, and detail. Jenny personally sources all leathers, hardware, and trims — communicating directly with makers, on location, to ensure every element meets the brand's ethical and quality standards. X Nihilo is PETA-certified fur and angora wool free, a proud participant in the Fashion Revolution #WhoMadeMyBag campaign, and committed to fair wages and working conditions throughout its supply chain. Ninety percent of the people who make these bags are women.
This is slow fashion done without compromise — and without announcing itself.
At LNNY, we carry X Nihilo because it reflects the same values we bring to everything we make: considered design, honest materials, and the belief that true luxury lives in the details you discover over time.
